The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP) on the third part of its second session (FCCC/ADP/2013/3). The report summarizes the discussions held during the meeting, as well as the conclusions adopted.
During the session, which was held from 12-23 November 2013, in Warsaw, Poland, the ADP continued its work on the implementation of all elements of decision 1/CP.17, with discussions taking place through open-ended consultations on the 2015 agreement and on pre-2020 ambition. The ADP also held in-session workshops on: lessons learned from relevant experience of other multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs); and pre-2020 ambition.
The ADP adopted conclusions (FCCC/ADP/2013/L.4, as orally amended), in which it, among other things, invites parties and admitted observer organizations to submit information on opportunities for actions with high mitigation potential, including their mitigation benefits, costs, co-benefits and barriers to their implementation and strategies to overcome these barriers. It also recommends a draft decision (FCCC/ADP/2013/L.4/Add.1) to the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UNFCCC, which was adopted by the COP in Warsaw.
